The Corvid Gallery will host a new exhibition, with a special exhibition
of photographic prints created by acclaimed artist Craig Coleman,
whose work utilizes experimental digital photographic techniques.

Coleman’s images are created using a new technique developed
by the artist to create abstract imagery. The images are conceived
by removing the standard commercial lens on a digital camera, and
substituting it with various hand-held lenses. Exploring expanded
definitions of photography, light is captured and refracted in a unique
way. These images place the examination of light itself at the center
of visual observation by projecting light onto a digital “stage”.

Craig Coleman is an Associate Professor of Art at Mercer University
in Macon, Georgia. He received his BFA degree (mixed media)
from FSU and his MFA degree (photography) from the University
of Colorado at Boulder. Craig has been teaching art in academia
for sixteen years and has taught a wide range of media including
kinetic sculpture, graphic design, installation, digital imaging, video,
and photography. His photographs and mixed media works have
been shown in many galleries including Paul Sharpe Contemporary
Art (New York), Georgia College and State University (Milledgeville,
GA) the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (Boulder, CO), SOIL
gallery (Seattle, WA) , Museum of Contemporary Art (Atlanta, GA),
Museum of Arts and Sciences (Macon, GA), The Arvada Center for
the Arts (Arvada, CO), Carol Keller Gallery (Denver, CO)

His work has been reviewed or cited in Art in America, Art Papers,
The Denver Post, The Rocky Mountain News, New York Arts
Magazine, and the book “Soil: Artist-Run Gallery 1995-2005.”
